How to Post Freelancer Jobs that Will Generate Interest

I make my income through freelance jobs. This calls for careful consideration during the job search, application and the actual work. When searching for freelance jobs, I consider the pay, amount of time required to do the job, the resources required for successful completion of the work, the level of difficulty and the period of time it will take to do the work. I mostly take assignments on writing, web research, data entry, Virtual assistance, Search Engine Optimization, blog writing and product description. Web design and programming have numerous openings and are sometimes more lucrative than writing. Lacking the skills, I have enrolled for classes and will soon be able to apply for jobs in this category.

My favorite niche is writing, even though lately everybody feels like they can write. Having a background in Literature, writing for me, comes as a natural thing to do. I apply for jobs like blog writing, forum posting, EBook writing, ghost writing, press releases, reviews and creative writing. The pay offered for writing jobs differ depending on employer budget, level of difficulty and the amount of time required to complete the task. Writing is engaging and in most cases offers a learning opportunity. Since writing does not necessarily require specialized skills, it has become a flooded field with some writers offering their services at very low rates. It really wrong to assume that everybody can write; maybe it is time employers and contactors considered how well one can write.

Web research is another field that is attractive. Searching for information using keyword search techniques and recording the required information is fairly easy.  Web research might get a little more detailed when specialized to specific goals like market research, feasibility studies and product information. Some employers also require basic research on services like accommodation, property for sale, schools and other facilities. Well, there are also job seekers who employ contractors to search for jobs and apply for them or advice them accordingly. The only knowledge required here is keyword search techniques and ability to recognize trusted sites and authoritative resources.

Virtual Assistance is another attractive position, having worked as an administrative assistant. This is one job that has no description as it mostly goes by what the employer requires to be done. Tasks range from organizing the clients diary, scheduling appointments, answering calls, responding to emails, typing, research, shopping, marketing to simple and weird tasks like planning meals. Some clients also have ‘funny’ jobs like scheduling reminders for wake up, picking up kids to basic grooming!

Data entry jobs attract because in most cases they require little or no specialized skills to perform. Most of them are also easily executable and require little time to complete. This however, is sometimes disadvantageous since employers take advantage of the high number of applicants and demand for jobs to offer very low fees.

Generally, the more the pay, the better and a less tedious task is of course more preferable to more involving tasks.
